We are a leading onshore hydrocarbon producer in the United Kingdom, delivering natural gas and crude oil to Britain’s energy market.
We develop and produce gas and oil reserves at onshore locations in the the East Midlands and the Weald Basin in Southern England.
We currently have 28 fields with over 90 sites around the country, producing predominantly oil.
Average net production for the year to 31 December 2022 was 1,898 boepd (2021: 1,962 boepd).
The Company strongly believes that corporate responsibility is integral to business success.
Every scenario produced by the Climate Change Committee demonstrates a continuing role for oil and gas throughout the transition to and at the outcome of achieving net zero.

Natural gas continues to be the key pillar of the UK’s energy mix and a vital part of our economy providing heat, electricity and raw materials. Natural gas is the second largest final energy source in the UK, representing 35% of energy demand.
Oil forms a key part of the UK’s energy mix. 42 percent of the UK’s total energy production in 2021 was from crude oils extracted from the UK’s Continental Shelf, and UK refineries produced over 50 million tonnes of oil products.
Road transport represents the largest share of UK petroleum product demand, followed by non-energy use (manufacturing of goods) and aviation demand.
Whilst there is a clear need for oil and gas in a net zero environment, we have begun to diversify into renewable energy. Star Energy acquired GT Energy, a developer of geothermal energy in 2020, and has been building a presence in the UK where there is a clear opportunity to decarbonise large scale heat.
